Answering God’s Call

Magen David Adom in Israel

Magen David Adom (MDA) is Israel’s national emergency medical and rescue service, powered by a remarkable network of over 26,000 dedicated volunteers. From teenagers to adults, these volunteers play a vital role in saving lives — serving on ambulances, in emergency stations, and at blood drives — contributing more than one million volunteer hours each year, nearly a third of MDA’s total work.

Volunteers are often among the first to arrive at accident scenes, providing immediate assistance in critical situations, including major emergencies and terror attacks. Their commitment and impact have been recognised nationally through numerous awards, reflecting the deep appreciation for their service to Israeli society.

MDA also offers an overseas volunteer programme, giving participants the opportunity to live in Israel while training and serving as first responders. Volunteers work alongside Israeli paramedics on ambulances across the country, gaining hands-on experience, lifesaving skills, and world-class emergency medical training. Beyond professional development, the programme offers a meaningful cultural experience — fostering connection, responsibility, and solidarity with the people of Israel.

Serve on the front lines in Israel. Train as a first responder and make a real, lifesaving impact alongside Israeli paramedics.
