Shavuot/Pentecost
Shavuot, or the Feast of Weeks, marks the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai and the harvest of the first fruits. This feast is rich with spiritual significance, highlighting God’s guidance, provision, and the covenant relationship with His people. For believers in Messiah, Shavuot also points to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, empowering His followers to live in obedience and bear fruit for His kingdom.

This was another one of those real “aha” moments for us—realising that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit happened on the very same day the Torah was given at Sinai. Not as a replacement for the Torah, but alongside it, working together. We began to see that walking in the Spirit doesn’t mean living without guidance.
For a long time, one of the things we struggled with was the lack of clear boundaries. Over time, we came to understand that rules aren’t a burden—they’re actually a gift. With eight children, life without boundaries would quickly turn into chaos. In the same way, God gives His children guidance because He loves us.
We don’t keep His commandments because we have to, but because we love Him and desire to walk in ways that please Him. And while we certainly don’t claim to have it all figured out, we’ve found real joy in learning, desiring, and doing our best to live out His instructions—one step at a time.
Shavuot marks the giving of the Torah and the first harvest, celebrating God’s guidance, covenant love, and the blessing of His Word.
