Hanukkah/Feast of Dedication
Hanukkah is a celebration of God’s faithfulness, the triumph of light over darkness, and the courage of those who stood for truth in a time of spiritual struggle. Rooted in the story of the Maccabees, this eight-day festival invites us to rememberGod’s miracles — both ancient and ongoing — and to rededicate our own lives to Him.

Hanukkah is not explicitly commanded in the Bible, yet Yeshua did go up to Jerusalem to celebrate it—also known as the Festival of Lights. On the surface, it might not seem especially significant. But once you begin to dig a little deeper, so much comes into view.
One of the new insights we gained this Hanukkah is that it begins in the home. The Maccabees were, at their core, a family who chose to stand for what was right. That realisation was deeply encouraging. It reminded us that change doesn’t always start in grand or public ways—it often begins quietly, around the family table.
In the same way, we believe that standing for what is right in our own homes can shape the world around us. It won’t always be easy, and it certainly takes time. But as we train our families in the ways of God, faithfulness bears fruit. Hanukkah holds so many layers of meaning, and each year seems to reveal new lessons of light, courage, and perseverance.
“The Maccabees fought not just for freedom, but for the right to worship God faithfully. Hanukkah calls us to the same devotion.”
